01. Love and service to our hometown
LCN was born from a desire to contribute to Labuan Bajo, a place deeply connected to our identity and community life. We express our love for the region by supporting children through education.
Lentera Cilik Nusantara (LCN) grew from a love for our home and a deep concern for the future of Labuan Bajo’s children. We strengthen literacy and character so children can grow with confidence, stay connected to their culture, and prepare for a changing world.
Structured learning • Caring guidance • Progress reports every three months
LCN is a social education initiative that seeks to strengthen foundational literacy and character among children in Labuan Bajo. We believe local development must go hand in hand with preparing people for the future—and that this begins in childhood.
The points below explain why we exist and how we work — from love for our homeland, to preparing Labuan Bajo’s human resources, to a faith-inspired calling.
LCN was born from a desire to contribute to Labuan Bajo, a place deeply connected to our identity and community life. We express our love for the region by supporting children through education.
Labuan Bajo is known as a tourism destination that draws attention from Indonesia and around the world. This growth brings both opportunities and challenges. Children therefore need a strong foundation in literacy, character, communication, and critical thinking from an early age.
This initiative is also inspired by the biblical call to “seek the welfare of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7) and to be the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13–16). For LCN, faith is expressed through love, care, and practical service to others.
Lentera Cilik Nusantara was founded by Audilia on 28 April 2026 as an expression of love for her hometown and a commitment to children’s education in Labuan Bajo.
Believing that regional development depends on preparing its people, LCN began by strengthening literacy, nurturing character, and connecting learning to children’s real lives.
LCN is guided by care and compassion. We aim to make education relevant to children’s lives and the communities in which they grow.
To become a social education movement that nurtures a generation in Labuan Bajo and East Nusa Tenggara that is literate, grounded in character, critical-thinking, globally competitive, and proud of its home and culture.
These three approaches work together in every class — literacy strengthening as the foundation, character building as the direction, and contextual learning as the teaching method.
Build essential skills in reading, writing, numeracy, understanding information, and independent learning.
Nurture responsibility, discipline, compassion, confidence, creativity, and collaboration.
Bring Labuan Bajo, Manggarai culture, East Nusa Tenggara, and the local environment into learning experiences.
Regular classes are organised around each child’s ability. Placement is based not only on school grade, but also on skills the child has already developed.
For children around 5–8 years old, or those who need additional support with reading, writing, and numeracy.
For children who need help holding writing tools and forming letters, as well as those beginning to recognise letters and sound out simple letters or syllables.
For children who can sound out words and read at a basic level, and are building fluency, comprehension, and independence.
An English class for children with a solid foundation in reading, writing, and numeracy for their age. The main goal is to build confidence and regular speaking practice in English.
For children who are new to English or need to begin with the very basics.
For children who can at least introduce themselves in simple English.
Character-building and creative activities that help children explore their talents while practising teamwork, responsibility, care, and creativity.
Participation is required for regular and private students as part of LCN’s educational approach.

“Children’s progress should be observed, documented, and supported—not simply assumed.”
Lentera Cilik Nusantara Literacy Adventure Passport
Every three months, LCN prepares a student progress report through the LCN Literacy Passport. The report is designed to strengthen communication between tutors and families.
Shows skills the child has mastered and those that still need guidance.
Outlines practice goals and ways to support learning after the report is received.
Tutors support learning with care, patience, and attention to each child’s needs.
LCN brings the life and context of Labuan Bajo and East Nusa Tenggara into learning. Children explore, understand, and learn to talk about the culture and environment around them.
Reading and writing through stories, places, wildlife, nature, and everyday experiences familiar to children.
Help children express ideas about family, school, culture, and their community at a level appropriate to them.
Connect numbers and reasoning to everyday situations so children learn to understand, not just memorise.
LCN helps children appreciate the richness of their own region while preparing to participate in an increasingly connected world.
Although still a young initiative, LCN seeks to serve communities in East Nusa Tenggara. One activity undertaken with the team was a fundraising effort for residents affected by a natural disaster in West Manggarai.
During a fundraiser for residents affected by a natural disaster in West Manggarai, LCN and its team raised IDR 5,815,000. After event expenses of IDR 1,464,000, the remaining IDR 4,351,000 was allocated across four locations, IDR 1,087,000 each. A final public report should be supported by distribution records and documentation.
LCN is committed to clear documentation and reporting so the community can understand the purpose, process, and outcomes of its social activities.
This gallery should feature real LCN activity photos approved for publication, with captions explaining each activity and its context.
Until real photos are added, these cards are layout placeholders—not evidence of actual activities. Protect children’s identities and personal information.
